Hex Agony
The snowcap in winter is thick Smoothing the ridge line Under its brilliant billow Soft against the piercing winter blue It develops an icy sheen Under the warming spring sun Defiantly it stares back Reflecting the sun’s determined glare The searing heat of summer An aerial bombardment brutal and relentless I marvel at how the snow clings on As sweat glistens on my forearm Until one day I look up to find The ridge standing sharp and angular Bare Barren Bereft Against a sky shimmering with deadly intent
